Our Junior School Captain, Noah Simon, received the Fred Hollows Humanity Award for his efforts to raise money for the Bowel Cancer Association for Red Apple Day. Noah was able to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer in the Junior School encouraging students at weekly assemblies to bring in a red apple on Red Apple Day and by donating funds to the Bowel Cancer Association by purchasing a Red Apple pin.
Fred Hollows was an acclaimed eye surgeon and humanitarian who championed the right of all people to have access to affordable, high quality eye care. This award aims to recognise students that reflect Fred’s desire to care for mankind and help those in need.
Noah was 1 of 72 Year 6 students to receive this honourable award at Parliament House in Sydney.
