Creative And Performing Arts (CAPA)

At Lakes Grammar, the creative and performing arts are central to cultivating imagination, self-expression, and confidence in our students.

As well as offering wonderful socialising opportunities for our students, engaging in the arts strengthens cognitive and emotional skills, encouraging curiosity, resilience, and reflective thinking. The arts provide students with opportunities to explore their own experiences and connect with broader human stories, fostering joyful, meaningful, and deeply personal learning.

Music, drama, visual arts, and dance are celebrated both within the curriculum and the broader co-curricular program, offering students a rich variety of ways to explore their talents. Individual instrumental lessons, ensemble participation, and the school bands program allow students to develop technical skill, discipline, and collaboration, while drama and performance activities foster creativity, empathy, and public speaking.

Every alternate year, the school stages a major event – a school musical or a creative showcase – which brings together students from all year levels to present their work to the wider community.

By prioritising the arts, Lakes Grammar ensures that students develop both academically and personally, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for creative expression.
