Community

The Lakes Grammar community represents a delightful blend of current students, families, alumni, present staff, and former staff. Naturally, we extend a warm invitation to prospective families to come and witness our school in action.

We actively promote collaboration between parents, carers, and the school to enhance the educational journey of their children. This collaboration is nurtured through various parent information sessions, performances, and social gatherings.

These events also serve as fantastic occasions for parents, carers, and families to connect with one another and our dedicated staff.

The legacy of Lakes Grammar is kept vibrant by our alumni, who we welcome back at any time. We encourage them to share their life updates with us since their graduation.

Prospective families are cordially invited to tour our school at their convenience, with school tours available year-round. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand insight from our students.

A range of opportunities exist for parents to contribute to the life of the school, from working in the canteen, to helping with exam invigilation, tours and other events and various fundraising and broader community activities.

These opportunities will be advertised whenever they become relevant through Schoolbox.

Community events Active community involvement fosters a shared sense of purpose, strengthens relationships between families and the school, and enhances student engagement and wellbeing. When parents and caregivers participate meaningfully in school life, it builds trust, reinforces the value of education, and creates a supportive environment where students can thrive.

Principal’s Advisory Council

The most formal way by which parents can involve themselves in the leadership and culture of the school is through the Principal’s Advisory Council. A link to the relevant Schoolbox page for parents is found within the parent Schoolbox dashboard. Within the Newcastle Anglican community, the Principal Advisory Council for each school is constituted under an ordinance of the diocesan council.
